About Us

At Plymouth Middle School Theatre, our stage is big enough for everyone to find their place.

We believe that theatre builds more than characters — it builds confidence, collaboration, and community. Each year, students come together to create something extraordinary, whether they’re performing under the lights, designing sets, running tech, or helping behind the scenes. Our program welcomes all students who want to explore their creativity, try something new, and grow as part of a supportive team.

Meet The Team

Nina Jonson

Director

Director Nina Jonson has two children at Armstrong High School. She has been working with the theatre program at PMS since September 2022, and in Spring 2024 won the Robbinsdale Activity Program Director of the Year award for her work with and the growth of the theatre program. She acted in elementary, middle and high school, as well as an adult in community theatre, and also works with other local theater companies as a hair, makeup and wig artist. She is a licensed elementary educator with the state of MN and has worked with children, teens and young adults for 20 years. Her full-time job is as Director of Children and Youth at Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis.

Clarissa Geske

Vocal Director

Clarissa Geske is back for her second full scale musical, and third production with PMS Theatre. She was the music director for last year's Singin' in the Rain, as well as the spring musical review, The Next Act. Clarissa is currently the choir and theater teacher at Sandburg Middle School. Clarissa has previously directed both the Lions Choir and Sola Voce, audition only choirs in Robbinsdale Area Schools. A lifelong lover of theater, Clarissa can often be seen on stage herself, most recently as the Bird Woman in Mary Poppins, at Bunce Performing Arts, She does social media for local theatre companies, and has created wigs for both local and national productions!

Jacob Haen

Choreographer

Jacob Haen is new to PMS Theater, but not to choreography. A professional triple threat, Jacob has been choreographing shows since he was in high school. A recent graduate of MSU-Mankato with his BFA in Musical Theatre, Jacob has performed in shows across the state, and recently, the world! We are extremely lucky to have Jacob with us in between contracts with Carnival Cruise Lines as a singer-dancer.
